What are AI Overviews?

Google’s AI Overviews are part of its Search Generative Experience (SGE), which uses the Gemini model and other technologies like the Knowledge Graph to provide summaries sourced from information across the web.

Similar to previous shifts in search, the goal is to help searchers get the best answer quickly. However, this change presents both challenges and opportunities for businesses, impacting SEO in several ways:

Reduced traffic to original content.

Increased competition for visibility.

Emphasis on high-quality, authoritative content.

So, how do you prepare? The medium is changing, but your responsibility stays the same: You need to give users informative, well-structured, and authoritative content, and here is the guide how.

However, don’t joke with AI, it seems Google's AI doesn't handle it well. The Google AI Overview is not flawless; there are areas that still require improvement. Following its launch to the entire U.S. shortly after Google I/O, AI Overviews quickly became the subject of ridicule in search circles. Examples included suggesting absurd actions like eating rocks, using butt plugs during squats, and famously, advising people to add glue to their homemade pizza.
